Social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter have become another lucrative way in which celebrities have built another source of income, aside from being able to engage with their fans and sharing their day-to-day lives with followers. Whichever way you look at it, social media has changed the way we keep up with our favorite celebrities.
Even celebs, such as Angelina Jolie and Beyonce, who once said they weren’t fond of the idea of having a social media page, seemed to have had a change of mind, with both celebrities having not only created an account, respectively, but have also accumulated a huge following in doing so.
Celebrities are continuing to adapt to the world of social media, but not every actress in Hollywood is that all that convinced that they need to join one of these platforms — and that would include Kristen Stewart. Why Hasn’t Kristen Stewart Used Social Media?
Stewart doesn’t exactly have a positive stance on Instagram and/or Twitter, which is why she hasn’t joined either platform. And if fans hoped that she could eventually change her mind, according to what she said to reporters during the Venice Film Festival in 2019, she wouldn’t be changing her mind anytime soon.
Sure, social media has done wonders for celebs such as the Kardashians or even Kylie Jenner, who built her entire Kylie Cosmetics business with the help of Instagram. The mother-of-two is now estimated to be worth close to $1.5 billion as her business continues to expand and only uses social media to market its range of products.
So, yes, using Instagram can have some major benefits if the celebrity in question has a strong following and is business-savvy. But in Stewart’s case, she can’t get herself onto any social media site because she’s already not the most “engaging” person, to begin with.
“I’m not totally engaged socially,” she told a reporter at the film event. “But I feel like I’m not hiding.”
After reaching global stardom with her starring role as Bella Swan in the Twilight saga, Stewart wasn’t prepared for all the attention that came with signing on for what would become one of the biggest blockbuster franchise in history.
And because of all the attention that came with her newfound fame, she became ever-so-private and still wanted to cherish the idea of separating her personal life with her Hollywood career, which she’s done effortlessly well, though Stewart does want to open up to the world a little more.
“For a minute a few years ago I felt like I had to protect myself so much. And now I’m totally unguarded, and it’s a beautiful feeling,” she continued.
“It kind of toyed with me when I was younger and a little more insecure. Now it’s great that I have this position where I can feel really open about communicating with as many people as I possibly can.
“I don’t have social media but there is an interaction that I acknowledge and at times I covet.”
When Is Kristen Stewart Getting Married?
Stewart has yet to share an official date she plans on tying the knot with her fiancée Dylan Meyer.
The Spencer star revealed her engagement in an interview with Howard Stern back in November, where she let it slip that she and her partner are looking to tie the knot soon.
“I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it. We’re marrying, it’s happening,” she gushed.
The pair have been together for well over two years, with Stewart having previously shared she knew she wanted to marry Meyer just three months into their relationship.
Back in 2019, she revealed: “I want to be, like, sort of somewhat reasonable about it, but I think good things happen fast
“I can’t say right now because she will find out. I have a couple plans that are just the coolest things to do. I’m really impulsive. I don’t know when it’s going to be.”
Stewart and Meyer have known each other for about seven years, after meeting on the set of a movie, but their paths only crossed once more in 2019, despite having reportedly lived just a few blocks away from each other in Los Angeles.
